The makers of Myth created a great game, and just as important, a great mythology in which the game can take place. I fell in love with the names, places, and foes of the game so much that I have always felt it would make a great film. There is an unlimited potential for stories to be set within this universe while still coinciding with the main events of the game.
Another reason is that Hollywood and film makers in general have only really made bad films based on video games. This is enraging because just like novels and other art forms, there is a huge potential for good story telling within video games. Resident Evil could have been an amazing film, but the makers instead opted for a sub-par story, and we all know how that trilogy turned out.
I am going to change that. That sounds impossible but it isn't. It is just necessary to show everyone that a good film is possible based off of a video game. I'm starting out small, with a tiny little story and a tiny budget, set in the huge world of Myth. I love the game, which is why most of the film's budget is coming from my personal savings (which should be going towards paying off student loans). |
